In a properly installed vent, any lint that escapes the dryer's lint filter should be blown right outdoors. Any accumulation which occurs in a dryer's ducting is usually a sign of poor air flow, especially at the location(s) it occurs. In such cases the vent line should be evaluated to locate and correct any deficiencies it may have.
A restriction in the venting can cause lint to build-up inside the dryer where it is a very real fire hazard!
The Consumer Products and Safety Commission estimates there are over 15,000 clothes dryer fires each year in the United States, amounting to $96,000,000 in estimated property damage. Lack of maintenance is the leading cause of dryer fires, and LINT is the leading material to ignite. These fires can be caused by failure of mechanical and/or electrical parts within the dryer itself, proper materials being put into the dryer, and insufficient airflow as a result of improper installation.
Cleaning Process
We use a dryer vent brush system. This system scrubs the inside of the duct system and removes all of the heavy build up. We then force air through the dryer vent towards the termination hood located outside.

Many people believe that removing odors is very hard or next to impossible. However, we at Metro Home Services / Mr. Maid have found that, with the right training, tools, and experience, we can be extremely effective at removing almost any odor. There are several processes that will remove mal-odors. They are:
Thermal Fogging:
Thermal fogging is an absolute necessity for complete neutralization of smoke and other odors. A thermal fogger is a device that uses heat to produce a fog without degrading the active ingredient. The fog produced follows the same path as smoke and odors, reaching into cracks, crevices and voids. Completely safe and non-toxic, occupants can often return to a fresh, clean, mal-odor free atmosphere within minutes of treatment, reducing the loss of rents or additional living expenses.
Microban / Mold Control:

Ozone Blaster:
Odor problems originate from airborne or surface contaminants; bacteria, molds and fungus growth, spores, and fumes from chemicals. Each substance or compound, if it has an odor, has its own identifying odor. When the chemical nature of any substance is changed, its odor is changed. When ozone is introduced with the substance it will react and change the odor of that substance.

Biocides:

WRINKLES: The most common repair today is to correct buckling or wrinkling in the carpet. This usually appears two to four years after installation. Besides looking bad, they cause carpet to wear unevenly, and pose a serious slip and fall hazard. These should be repaired immediately, due the fact that they get worse over time and can cause a permanent crease and discoloration in the carpet.
TEARS, HOLES and BURNS: Physical damage to carpet can often be repaired through seaming or bonded sectioning (patching). Even if a donor piece of carpet is not available, often a piece can be scavenged from a closet or other inconspicuous area.
PULLED YARNS: Common to loop pile carpet is the pulling of fibers. It is very important to catch these early. A looped carpet is like a knitted sweater, where a pull just gets longer and longer with time. A certified company can reinstall the “bundle wraps” that have been pulled out of the carpet backing.
CARPET FRAYING: Carpets often fray at the edges. Usually we see this at thresholds, where the flooring changes from carpet to hard surface. The problem many times is delamination. Delamination occurs when the face yarns separate from the backing of the carpet. A trained and certified company can often inject a latex adhesive to rejoin the two layers of carpet.

What is the difference in between Sanding, Buffing, and Recoating?
A buff or recoat is a light abrasion to a floor that has previously been finished. Usually when a hardwood floor begins to lose its sheen or dull it should be recoated. Recoating will not remove deep scratches and it will not repair damaged or stained flooring. Sanding removes all of the finish from hardwood floors. Sanding is a much more invasive and costly process but it can make a hardwood floor look brand new.

We are willing to move anything necessary to dust your home thoroughly. We do ask that you assist us in moving items of extreme monetary or sentimental value.
Standard cleaning includes maintaining baseboards, door frames and doors, picture frames, ceiling fans, vents, light switches, cabinets, spot cleaning walls, light bulbs, and light fixtures, vacuuming all floors, damp mopping floors.
We will clean the oven interior, inside refrigerator, interior windows and blinds upon request.
Call us within 24 hours after your cleaning. If we didn't clean something to your satisfaction, we will re-clean it free of charge.
